BridgeBegin tablet mockup

Enhancing Bridge skills for beginners through an engaging digital platform.

CASE STUDY

BridgeBegin is a mobile application and web platform designed to teach Bridge to beginners in an engaging, structured, and intuitive way. The app serves both self-learners and instructors, offering a seamless learning experience with randomly generated deals while maintaining defined learning constraints.

Tools

Adobe Illustrator Adobe Photoshop Adobe Flash Builder HTML CSS jQuery

My Role

UX/UI Designer: Crafted a user-friendly and visually appealing experience.
Web Designer Designed and developed the web application and landing page.
App Developer Designed and coded the mobile app for Android and iOS.

Scope

Developing a mobile application for both Android and iOS, along with a corresponding landing page and a fully functional web application on the site.

Problem

Teaching Bridge involves the simultaneous explanation of multiple concepts, contributing to the complexity of the learning experience. The need to convey various interconnected ideas poses a challenge in ensuring effective comprehension among learners.

Goal

Develop an intuitive mobile app for iOS and Android with smooth performance and a seamless experience.
Create a persuasive landing page to attract, inform, and convert new users.
Build a scalable web application with fully functional Bridge learning tools and reliable access.
Enhance engagement with interactive methods, gamification, and adaptive exercises.
Improve comprehension of Bridge concepts for new learners through clear explanations and guided practice.

RESEARCH & METHODOLOGY

To design an effective learning experience, I conducted thorough research using a variety of methods:

Game-Based Learning Approach

How effective is learning by playing in understanding Bridge concepts?

Do users prefer progressive learning through challenges and levels?

How can we balance entertainment and learning within the game?

Concept Comprehension Challenges

What specific Bridge mechanics (e.g., counting points, openings, responses) are the most difficult for beginners?

How can the game guide players intuitively through complex concepts like distribution and contracts?

Does real-time feedback help players correct mistakes faster?

Usability & Navigation

Is the game interface and navigation intuitive for beginners?

Do users find it easy to customize settings (e.g., card size, language, national settings)?

Are the statistics and score charts clear and useful for tracking progress?

User Motivation & Engagement

What game mechanics (e.g., scoring, challenges, achievements) keep players engaged?

How can progress tracking (score calculator, statistics, duration tracking) improve player motivation?

Does the multiplayer or solo experience affect retention and learning efficiency?

INCORPORATING GAME FEATURES

Multi-Platform Accessibility

The game is available on Android and iOS, ensuring users can play on both tablets and phones.

Multilingual Support

The game is accessible in Turkish, English, French, Swedish, Polish, and German, making it adaptable to diverse player bases.
